**You should NEVER have to purchase an article- get it through the library!**
When you search for your topic in a database, there are some tricks to getting the results you want.
1. Many times when you're searching, the database will suggest search terms. These suggested terms can help you to narrow down your topics.
2. Once you have performed a search within a database, look on the left-hand side for filtering options. Many times you can limit the publication dates, the type of item you're viewing (peer-reviewed article vs. Newspaper), and you can even narrow down your search interest by subject.
3. Consider using your Boolean Operators, such as AND, OR, and NOT to narrow down your search.
