Google Art Project  Virtually move around the museum galleries listed and navigate though interactive floor plans selecting works of art. Ability to zoom in to selected works. See "Visitor Guide" and FAQs to learn more.

Art Images for College Teaching (AICT)  The main emphasis is on Ancient, Medieval, and Renaissance European art and architecture. The images displayed on this site have been photographed on location by the author, Allan Kohl, who consents to their use in any application that is both educational and non-commercial in nature.

Metropolitan Museum of Art Images from the MET available for download online. The Met made its images of public-domain artworks freely available (over 200,000 images). On the homepage click on ART, then COLLECTION, then select Public Domain Artworks.

 

National Gallery of Art  A searchable web site of the works at The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. The contents of this site, including all images and text, are for personal, educational, non-commercial use only.

Web Gallery of Art  A virtual museum and searchable database of European painting and sculpture of the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Realism and Impressionism periods (1100-1900). Some artist biographies are available. The Web Gallery of Art is intended to be a free resource of art history primarily for students and teachers.
