Alabama Commission on Higher Education
The Alabama Commission on Higher Education, a statewide 12-member lay board...is the state agency responsible for the overall statewide planning and coordination of higher education in Alabama...the Commission facilitates informed decision making and policy formulation regarding wise stewardship of resources in response to the needs of students and the goals of institutions. The agency also provides a state-level framework for institutions to respond cooperatively and individually to the needs of the citizens of the State.
Alabama State Department of Education
State departments and boards of education are generally responsible for supporting public early childhood, K-12 secondary, higher education, technical and community educational institutions. Usually they:

•Maintain educational standards through uniform testing and professional certification

Evaluating Websites is an important part of finding reliable information. Anyone can create a website so it is important to evaluate the site for reliability. Websites should meet the following criteria to be considered scholarly:
Accuracy: The site contains accurate information
Authority: The site author or organization is a recognized leader or expert in their field.
Currency: The site is current and regularly updated.
Objectivity: The site provides unbiased and objective information.
Coverage: The site adequately covers their topic and maintains comprehensive focus.
