After finding a book in the Library's catalog, it can be reserved by placing a hold on it to prevent others from checking it out for a period of time. This is done by selecting the "Place Hold/CCCC Locker Pickup" option on the information page for each book. There are three options for where to pick up the reserved books: The CCCC Locker Pickup (Main), and the CCCC Locker Pickup (Normal Hills), and the J.F. Drake Memorial LRC. The last option keeps the books to be picked up at the 2nd floor Circulation Desk (rom 201). The CCCC pickup is a longer process that will be explained below. The Holds option on the My Account menu allows users to check all of the Holds they currently have reserved. Once a hold has been placed, the user should expect an email from the LRC once the requested book has been pulled from the collection and becomes available for pickup. Holds only last for five days, so be sure to pick up your reserved books by then.
The CCCC (short for Contactless Curbside Click & Collect) is a service designed to allow users to reserve and pickup books without ever entering the LRC. By entering the My Account menu and clicking on the Hold option, a list of books the user has reserved will appear. The CCCC Locker Pickup option will allow the user to request that the reserved books be moved to one of our two CCCC locker's locations (Main or Normal Hills). Marked on the above maps are our main location in the parking space outside the LRC across from the Post Office and our Normal Hills location.
This process is usually done within 1-2 business days, and the user will receive both a in-app message and an email from the LRC notifying them whenever the book is ready to be picked up. This notification will inform the user of the specific locker their reserved books are in and the 4-digit PIN number needed to open it. After this, the books can picked up at any time, even when the LRC is closed. Below the in-app message, the user can inform the LRC that the pickup has been completed.
