A course designed to give the student a thorough working knowledge of the fundamentals of organic chemistry. The nomenclature, structure, properties and reactions of organic compunds are studied from an integrated approach, considering the interrelationships of structure, properties, and reactions. Among the topics covered will include, spectroscopic studies and interpretation of IR, Mass spectra and NMR charts, radical reactions, alcohol, ethers, conjugated systems, aldehydes, ketones, amines, dienes and aromatic compounds.
