What is the Bulldog Computer Commons?
The Bulldog Computer Commons (Commons) is an open-instructional, computer facility housed on the second floor of the J.F. Drake Learning Resources Center (Drake LRC) and is available to all current AAMU faculty, staff and enrolled students.
The Commons features 18 PCs, including all-in-one, Windows 10© devices, three (3) Apple iMacs©, and six (6) Collaborative Media Tables. The Commons area also includes printers, two Zeutschel Zeta scanners, and Wi-Fi access. There are computers available for use on the 3rd Floor of Drake LRC for students as an extension of the Commons.
Librarians and staff are available to assist with limited technical support as it pertains to use of the Commons, including log-in and printing assistance.

How do I use the Commons?
Currently enrolled students and registered faculty/staff must be registered to use the Commons. Verification involves registration at any of Drake LRC’s service points: RILS/Reference Desk or Reserves Desk (2nd Floor LRC), or the Circulation Desk (3rd Floor LRC). Once registered, users will be able to use the computers immediately following confirmation of accounts.

Can I print or copy from the Commons?
Yes, printing is available from the Commons for registered users. Check with one of Drake LRC’s service points to ensure registration is complete. The printer and print release station are located on the 2nd and 3rd Floor of Drake LRC to the rear of the Reference Desk.
Copying is available on the 2nd Floor of Drake LRC: at the Reference Desk and the Serials Department (opposite wing of the LRC) and 3rd Floor Circulation. See also Mobile Printing Policy.

The regular hours of operation during the Intersession are:

*Please note that Drake LRC follows the University schedule for mandated (i.e. spring break, holidays) and emergency (inclement weather, downed systems) closures. *

I am not an AAMU student or faculty member. Can I use the Commons?
Community Users may use the space as long as they have submitted the required registration form and paid the associated fee, see Community User Policy. Community Users will then be allowed to utilize devices designated for community use.
Other campus constituents, i.e. AAMU Summer Programs or Upward Bound, will be permitted to use the Commons if they are accompanied by an advisor of any of these campus-affiliated programs.
