How Do I Access Database From Off Campus?


First, please make sure you have created and activated your (Gmail) email address. If not, click here. This email user name and password is the authentication you will must have to access online resources


I am Having Problems Accessing Library Databases?

If you encounter any issues with logging in using your e-mail or user name and password, Please contact 372-4357.


What are the loan periods for library materials?

Undergraduate students may check out a maximum of 10 books at a time for a 30 day loan period. Graduate students may also check out a maximum of 10 books at a time for a 90 day loan period.

Are there library fines and charges?

Yes, fines will be assessed at .25 per day per book up to a maximum of $15.00. After the accumulation of a $15.00 fine, the book will be declared lost. At that time, patrons will be charged the cost of the book, a $20 processing fee, plus the maximum $15.00 fine for each lost book.

What Foods are allowed in Drake LRC?

Beverages are allowed if they are in sturdy spill-proof containers.

Snacks that are dry and aroma free such as candy bars, nuts, and selected chips

Eating is allowed at tables and chairs.


What Foods are NOT Allowed?


With the exception of the food items available by Armark, the following items ore non permissible

No food from outside the library such as Pizza Hut, MacDonald’s, Burger King, etc., uncovered beverages,

Food deliveries will be denied entry, Alcohol is strictly forbidden.


Where Food and Drink are NOT Permissible?

Foods are not permissible at Computer workstations, near library-owned laptops, media equipment, copiers and scanners, in stacks and shelving areas and Archives and Special Collections room.


Where can I view media (dvd's, videos) that have been reserved?

Media that have been placed on reserve by instructors can be viewed in the Reference Area in the Viewing Room or in Information Technology on the first floor. Students should be ready to submit their student identification or other picture identification in order to have access to the various media. Reserved media cannot be checked out and are only allowed to be viewed on site.

What limitations are there on computer usage?

Students are expected to adhere to the Acceptable Computer Use Statement of the University. Inappropriate uses of University computing resources may result in appropriate disciplinary action. In addition, illegal acts involving University computing resources may result in prosecution by State and Federal authorities.


What are the LRC policies for Mobile Devices?

If you must make or take a call, please remember other students using the LRC, and make or take your calls in the 1st floor Student Lounge or 1st floor lobby.

Where can I find the reserve material for my class?


If your instructor has placed material "on reserve", you may inquire at the Circulation desk on the second floor.  Reserves are electronically accessible using a password issued by your instructor.


If an item is not accessible digitally, you should be prepared to temporarily leave your student ID with Circulation personnel on duty, while you make a copy or scan the reserve material on a copier on the second floor.

Where can I find a group study room?


Study rooms are available on the second and third floors on a first-come basis. Requests are made at the circulation desk.

Who is the J. F. Drake Memorial LRC named in honor of?

The J. F. Drake Memorial Learning Resources Center is named in honor of Dr. Joseph Fanning Drake, the fourth President of Alabama A& M University.
